MERIDEN - Police arrested a Massachusetts man Christmas morning and charged him with breaking into at least four cars.

David Pichardo, 20, of 8 Hampden St., Indian Orchard, Mass., was found around 5 a.m. Friday morning with cell phones, speaker boxes, radios and GPS units in his car while parked at the Crown Village apartments on Crown Street. Police said he attempted to hide under the steering wheel of his car when officers approached him.

Police said Pichardo was responsible for car break-ins which officers had discovered earlier.
