HARTFORD - The state Department of Consumer Protection, alerts consumers to a voluntary recall by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission of Flashing Pacifiers manufactured in China and imported by Top Goods Trading, of Temple City, Calif.

This product was sold in retail stores in the Los Angeles area from November 2007 through November 2008 for approximately 50 cents. Although not sold in Connecticut stores, consumers may have purchased this product while traveling, or may have been mailed as a gift, etc.

The pieces of the pacifier can easily separate posing a choking hazard to young children. In addition to the choking hazard, the necklace portion of the pacifier poses a strangulation hazard.

The recalled pacifiers have a yellow heart shaped mouth guard and handle. There is a 15 inch cord attached to the handle and the LED lights are activated by pushing the heart shaped handle into the base of pacifier.

Although this product was marketed to older children and adults, this pacifier may still end up in the possession of a baby which could result in serious injury or even death.

Consumer Protection Commissioner Jerry Farrell, Jr., strongly recommends parents check their children's pacifiers for this product and if found, immediately remove from the child and contact Top Goods Trading for a refund or exchange. For additional information, please contact Top Goods Trading Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time at (213) 680-0388.

Welcome to the discussion.
