SOUTHINGTON - A Southington High School social studies teacher is due in court Oct. 7 on charges of fourth-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor and second-degree unlawful restraint, police said Monday.
William Boulanger, 58, of 85 Skyline Drive, turned himself in Sept. 9 after learning there was a warrant for his arrest, said police spokesman Sgt. Lowell DePalma. He was released on $10,000 bond and appeared in court the same day.
The charges stem from a July 7 incident, according to police, that did not involve a student and did not occur on school grounds.
The arrest warrant in the case was ordered sealed by the court because it involves a minor, DePalma said.
School Superintendent Joseph V. Erardi Jr. said Boulanger was placed on administrative leave with pay before the start of school on Aug. 28.
