Accident with tanker truck leaking fuel causing delays on I691 E by exits 7 and 8


MERIDEN - A two car accident on Interstate 691 E by exits 7 and 8 is causing delays this morning.

The accident was reported about 9:15 a.m. according to the Department of Transportation. The left and center lanes are closed.

According to Meriden fire officials, a diesel truck was involved in the accident and is leaking fuel. Fire crews are responding with a truck, and The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is on the way to the scene, fire officials said.
