MERIDEN — Westfield Meriden mall has added a new beauty store and salon to its second floor.
ULTA Beauty opened to customers Friday morning where the women’s clothing store, The Limited, used to be. It’s in between Michael’s Jewelers and Radio Shack, near the JC Penney Wing. The 10,000-square-foot store includes a 950-foot salon. The store offers prestige beauty products found in high end stores as well as beauty brands sold at drug stores.
“It’s a one-stop shop,” said Westfield marketing manager Katherine Rioux.
Men and women’s hair and skin care products can be purchased as well as fragrances, Rioux said.
“Our shoppers are so excited,” Rioux said. “We had a lot of positive feedback.”
A ribbon cutting was held Friday morning and a grand opening celebration will be held next weekend.
Rioux said mall walkers were pleased to see a, “bright, pretty” storefront.
“This the only cosmetic store in the mall,” Rioux said. “This fills a gap.”
Rioux said people from the local community were hired for the store.
Customers are welcome to stop by the ULTA Friday, Nov. 15 through Sunday, Nov. 17, for free makeovers and free consultations from experts in cosmetics, skin care and hairstyling. There will also be special offers and gift certificates handed out to the first 100 customers that visit the store each day.
