Police: West Haven man faces charges of attempting to entice a minor online

MERIDEN — A West Haven man charged with trying to solicit a minor online is scheduled to appear in court later this month.

John Adamowski, 37, of 96 Winslow Drive, was arrested Wednesday and charged with criminal attempted second-degree sexual assault, criminal attempted risk of injury to a minor and criminal attempted enticing a minor.

Sgt. Darrin McKay, police spokesman, said Adamowski was soliciting what he believed was a minor girl online. Because of the sensitive nature of the investigations, McKay said the details of the case cannot be released. The computer crimes division worked on the case.

Adamowski was held on $100,000 bond and arraigned in Meriden Superior Court. He was released on a promise to appear and is due back in court on May 29.
