Police investigate potential hit-and-run at South Meriden Car Wash

MERIDEN — One person went to the hospital after he was struck by a car following a dispute at a car wash Tuesday afternoon, police said.

At about 1:30 p.m., an employee at the South Meriden Car Wash, 1107 Hanover Ave., got into an argument with a customer. The customer then hit the man with his car before fleeing the scene, police said.

Sgt. Darrin McKay said the employee and the customer knew each other. McKay said police have identified a possible suspect.

The man was taken to MidState Medical Center for treatment, police said. The man did not have any visible injuries, according to McKay, and was taken for precautionary purposes.

The manager at the car wash declined to comment.
