Meriden police investigate missing 16-year-old girl

MERIDEN — Police have issued a silver alert for 16-year-old Nicole Kobrin, who was reported missing since Thursday.

She has brown hair and brown eyes, is about 5-feet, 5-inches tall and weighs 121 pounds.

She has a tattoo on the back of her left thigh of an elephant surrounded by tribal markings. She was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, jean shorts and black high top sneakers.

According to police, she may be in the company of two men, one of whom is believed to be her boyfriend.

It is possible she is traveling in a black 2004 Audi A4 with the Connecticut license plate number 987ZYH, police said.

Sgt. Darrin McKay said Kobrin could be anywhere from New York City to South Carolina.

He said there was also a possibility that she has not left the state.

Police are not pursuing any charges at this time because they believe Kobrin left voluntarily, McKay said.

Kobrin’s mother is a police dispatcher and her step-father is a firefighter.

According to McKay, they are anxious and concerned about the wellbeing of their daughter.

Police are asking anyone with information on Kobrin’s whereabouts to contact Detective David Visconti at (203) 630-6252.
