The security vestibules will be at McGee Middle School and the three elementary schools: Hubbard, Willard and Griswold.
During a special budget meeting in January, the school principals all requested additional security. McGee Principal Salvatore Urso said there are eight working cameras in the middle school. He said more security is needed due to bigger class sizes in sixth and eighth grades.
The elementary school principals also said they had fewer than 10 cameras in the buildings. The high school has about 40 cameras.
The state reimbursement rate will stay at 45.36 percent if the application is received before June 30. The rate will drop to 42.8 percent after that date.
