The Center for Living Organ Donors at Yale New Haven Health has scheduled a discussion on living donations for Wednesday, April 26, 6:30 p.m., at the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library.
The program discusses what a living organ donation is, the risks, how to get involved and more. Last year, more than 5,900 kidney and liver transplants were made possible by living donors. At present, Connecticut has over 1,000 patients in the kidney transplant waitlist and it can take 5 to 6 years to receive a kidney from a deceased transplant waitlist.
Registration for the program is required. For more information, call 860-828-7126 or visit berlinpeck.org.
