Luddy bests Class MM high jump field

Berlin High School senior tri-captain Matt Luddy triumphed in a jump-off to take the CIAC Class MM state title in high jump. Luddy cleared 6 feet to earn a place in the State Open on Monday, June 5.

Joining Luddy there was teammate, senior tri-captain Dan Labbadia, who took fourth in both javelin and discus at the Class MM event.

Berlin junior Jeremy Sirois and sophomore Alex Halkias also competed at the MM meet and set personal bests in pole vault and the 100, respectively.

Berlin tallied 20 points at the Class MM championships and landed in 12th place.

At the State Open, Luddy placed ninth in high jump, and Labbadia finished sixth in javelin and 17th in discus.
