Berlin brewery on hold

BERLIN — Residents will have to wait longer for a brewery in town after plans for one at 817 Farmington Avenue have been put on hold.

Owner David Peichart told members of the economic development commission last month that there have been several delays. Concentric Brewing planned to open this fall, with a tap room.

“We want to support them in any way we can,” said Chris Edge, director of economic development for the town.

The commission agreed to rescind Concentric Brewing’s application for facade and landscape improvements, from the state’s STEAP grant program, totaling more than $48,000. The brewery missed the deadline for the application.

The funds will be used for another business’ facade project.

Peichart did not return requests for comment.
