The Saint Joseph School seventh grade class continues to research the rich history of Meriden for the ‘Pride in Meriden’ project. Next stop, the Bradley Home with interviews scheduled with at least 10 eager residents who were willing to share their experiences, and talk about some of the industries that were part of their up-bringing. The students introduced themselves, and shared some information about themselves with the Bradley resident, and then a wonderful series of conversations unfolded. The resident’s excitement about life downtown brought a gleam to their eyes, some worked in the silver factory, rode the transit, and enjoyed treats from Thompsons. The SJS students were captivated and eager to learn more, in fact they plan on coming back to play cards and learn crafts.
