SOUTHINGTON — Police are investigating after a video posted online by an organization that targets sexual predators appears to depict a man being confronted at a local Dunkin’ Donuts about allegedly attempting to solicit a 14-year-old boy on the internet.

The video was posted to Facebook by POPsquad Friday evening. Lt. Stephen Elliott said Monday that police are aware of the video and are investigating. He did not confirm the man’s identity.

The video posted by POPsquad appears to take place at the Dunkin’ Donuts on Main Street in Plantsville. At the start of the video, a man from POPsquad confronts the man sitting outside the restaurant and asks who he is there to meet. The man responds he is at the restaurant to meet a 14-year-old boy. The man from POPSquad replies that he posed as the 14-year-old online.
