Wallingford woman faces child pornography charges

-->

WALLINGFORD — A local woman faces charges of making child pornography.

Angela Martin, also known as Angela Haussmann, 29, was arrested Thursday and charged with production, distribution and possession of child pornography.

Martin is accused of sexually abusing a three-year-old in August, recording the abuse with her cell phone and emailing the video to someone in California, according to a statement from Deirdre M. Daly, Acting U.S. Attorney for Connecticut. Martin is also accused of possessing and distributing other child pornography in August and September. Martin is a registered sex offender from a previous felony conviction in Connecticut, according to the statement.

Martin appeared in New Haven Superior Court on Friday and was detained. She faces a minimum of 50 years if convicted on all charges with consecutive sentences. Daly stressed that a complaint is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt.

The FBI, local police and the Connecticut Child Exploitation Task Force are investigating the case.
