One person hurt in I-691 crash


One person suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital following a solo-car accident on Interstate 691 at 8:54 p.m. Friday, according to state police.

The driver of the car, who was not identified, was transported to Midstate Medical Center in Meriden, following the accident, in which the car went over an embankment and fell 50 feet near Exit 5, state police said.

State police and Meriden Fire Department responded to the scene.

The driver’s condition was not available today.
