Plainville police investigating double stabbing at Taco Bell

PLAINVILLE — Police are investigating a double stabbing at Taco Bell Thursday night.

Sgt. Nicholas Mullins, police spokesman, said, officers were dispatched to the parking lot of the Taco Bell on New Britain Avenue about 10:30 p.m. for a report of a stabbing. Two men were taken to Hartford Hospital for treatment of stab wounds. One man was stabbed twice in the stomach, and the second man was stabbed on the side of his mid-section.

The injuries were listed as serious, but the men are in stable condition, Mullins said.

Police believe two groups of people got into an argument at a different location about half an hour before the stabbing, Mullins said. When the two groups met in the Taco Bell parking lot, an altercation occurred, Mullins said. It is believed the suspects fled with another man acting as a getaway driver, Mullins said.

Mullins said the suspect vehicle is described as a new model, red Ford Taurus. Previous descriptions of a Chrysler or Dodge appear to be incorrect.

Anyone with information or who might have witnessed the incident is asked to call police at (860) 747-1616.
