East Haven man charged in North Haven bank robbery

NORTH HAVEN — An East Haven man faces charges after police said he robbed a Wells Fargo Bank on Monday.

Daniel Toce, 29, of East Haven, was arrested on Monday and charged with second-degree robbery and fourth-degree larceny. He is held on $50,000 bond and scheduled to be arraigned later this morning in Meriden Superior Court.

On Monday around 12:30 p.m. Toce entered the Wells Fargo Bank, 80 Washington Avenue, and gave a teller a note that demanded money, Captain Kevin Glenn said. The teller gave Toce the money, and he fled the scene, Glenn said. No one was injured and there was no weapon shown, Glenn noted.

North Haven police worked with the East Haven police department and identified the suspect as Toce, Glenn said. Detectives got an arrest warrant and found Toce at a motel in Branford and with the assistance of local police, Toce was taken into custody without incident. Glenn noted the collaboration between the three departments resulted in Toce being arrested less than 12 hours after the incident.
