MERIDEN — The police department has announced that five recent police academy graduates are undergoing training.

The five graduates are completing in-house training and will soon begin a four-month field training program.

Catherine Esposito, a Meriden resident, graduated from the University of New Haven with a degree in criminal justice with a concentration in law enforcement and minor in psychology. She previously worked as a police service technician for the department.

Patrick Ouellette, a Plainville native, has a degree in nuclear medicine and nutritional science. He was previously a nuclear medicine technologist at Yale University.

Joe Colella, a native of New Britain, graduated from Liberty University and was an award-recipient from the Milford Police Academy.

Tyler Langston grew up in Oxford and graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a degree in justice and law administration, with a concentration in law enforcement. He is a member of the U.S. Army Reserves.

Brion Olivero graduated from the University of New Haven with a degree in criminal justice.
