MERIDEN — A city man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Hanover Road late Wednesday night.
Police identified the man as Lamont Williams, 44, of Meriden. Williams, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was thrown from his motorcycle after he struck a guardrail, acting Capt. Tom Cossette said in a statement.
Officers responded to the area of Hanover Road and Prospect Avenue for a report of a motorcycle crash about 11:30 p.m. Police found Williams between the sidewalk and guardrail on Hanover Road, Cossette said.
After investigating, police determined Williams was traveling south on Hanover Road when he lost control of a Suzuki motorcycle and struck a guardrail. Williams was knocked off the motorcycle and struck the guardrail with his head, Cossette said. He was not wearing a helmet.
Police continue to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call Cossette at 203-630-6216.
