MERIDEN — Police cited a city woman after police say a dog she was watching got free and injured a child on a playscape at Baldwin Pond.

Tiana Dove, 29, of 28 Rosemary Terrace, was cited on April 16 for having a dangerous animal.

On April 9, Dove was at Baldwin Pond with a relative’s dog when the dog got free and charged over to the swing set, where a 7-year-old was playing, said Sgt. Darrin McKay. The child suffered a minor injury, but it did not appear to be a bite, according to McKay. The child was taken to MidState Medical Center for treatment.
