NORTH HAVEN — A pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a car on Route 5 early Thursday evening.

Emergency crews responded to the area of 630 Washington Ave., just south of Scrub Oak Road, about 6:30 p.m. The pedestrian was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital and was listed in critical condition, according to fire officials.

The pedestrian’s identity was not immediately released.

In January, a Wallingford man was also struck by a car at the intersection of Route 5 and Scrub Oak Road.
