North Haven’s annual Holiday Food Drive is underway

North Haven’s annual Holiday Food Drive, sponsored by the churches of North Haven, is collecting non-perishable food items to include in holiday boxes that will be delivered to families of North Haven for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

After heavy demand on the Food Pantry this summer, the current stocks are very low.

Non-perishable food items can be donated directly to the Food Pantry at the North Haven Congregational Church any weekday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Collection bins are located at North Haven Town Hall, Town Hall Annex, North Haven Senior Center, North Haven Memorial Library, Arnold’s Jewelers – the North Haven Diamond Center, Connex Credit Union (North Haven Branch), United Bank, Bank of America, People’s Pharmacy, Bonesse’s Pizza, Inferno Pizza, Mary’s Helpers, Minotti’s Music Center, Mio Salon, Ron’s Barber Shop, Quinnipiac University School of Law, Paul Mitchell’s North Haven Academy, Besomebody Fitness and Pilates, Feldman Orthodontist, Quinnipiac Physical Therapy and North Haven Dialysis Center.

North Haven Cub and Boy Scouts plan to deliver bags to homes on Saturday, Nov. 4 and will pick them up on Saturday, Nov. 11, 9 to 11:30 a.m. Gift certificates or cash donations can be made toward the purchase of perishable items.

Checks should be made payable to North Haven Congregational Church (Food Drive in the memo line).

Thanksgiving food boxes are scheduled to be packed Friday, Nov. 17 for delivery on Saturday, Nov. 18. Christmas food boxes are scheduled to be packed Friday, Dec. 15 for delivery on Saturday, Dec. 16.
