Woman charged with stealing over $7,800 from family member in Southington

SOUTHINGTON — A Waterbury woman faces charges after police say she stole over $7,800 from a family member.

Christina Granniss, 41, of Waterbury, was charged by warrant Friday morning with credit card theft, illegal use of a credit card and two counts each of second-degree forgery and third-degree larceny. She was initially held in lieu of $1,500 bond and was scheduled to appear in Bristol Superior Court on Friday.

Granniss reportedly made fraudulent ATM and bank withdrawals, and forged checks using bank accounts of a family member, said Sgt. Jeffrey Dobratz. In total, Granniss is accused of stealing $7,869.
