Bristol man charged in fatal Southington crash in March

SOUTHINGTON — A Bristol man faces a manslaughter charge in connection with a fatal crash on West Street in March.

Jason Dominguez, 37, of 511 Emmett St., Bristol was charged July 7 with second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle, driving under the influence and failure to obey a traffic signal. He was released on $5,000 bond.

The accident occurred on West Street near the intersection with West Queen Street on March 19 at around 2:15 a.m. Carlos Barrios was driving south on West Street near the intersection when his vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by Dominguez that was traveling west on West Queen Street, police said.

Jimmy Cintron-Guzman, a front seat passenger in Dominguez’ car, was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, where he was pronounced dead. Dominguez was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Hartford with non-life threatening injuries. Barrios was taken to Waterbury Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
