After winning the state championship in early March, the Shoreline Sharks hockey team, whose roster features local players Carina Mancini and Claire Gavin, headed to Maine for the New England district regional playoffs.

There, the Sharks compiled a record of 4-0-1, outscored their opponents 18-3, and prevailed in the championship game to advance to nationals. Representing New England, the Sharks traveled to Michigan in April and continued their incredible run.

The Sharks went 6-0 at nationals, beating teams from Alaska, Michigan, Colorado, New Jersey, Massachusetts and, ultimately, Wisconsin, to claim the national championship.
