WALLINGFORD — Long known for power tools and construction equipment, a local rental company owned by the same family for 37 years is now offering items for parties and other special events.
With construction vehicles sitting in the front and side lots of Taylor Rental, at 620 N. Colony Road, one would expect to walk inside to find only equipment for construction contractors and the do-it-yourself crowd. But the business, owned by siblings Russ and Vickie Dagenais, recently added handcrafted wood tables, decorative chairs, silverware, glassware and china.
As part of an effort to grow, Taylor is renting ornamental party supplies for special occasions, including weddings. Tents, tables, dance floors, specialty linens and a wedding arch are among new items that can be rented.
