WALLINGFORD — A used-car dealership that recently opened on Route 5 plans feature low-mileage vehicles.

Finish Line Automotive, at 856 N. Colony Road, opened at the former Apple Auto Wholesalers site last week. The dealership, located in front of a plaza that includes a ShopRite supermarket, has renovated the showroom and customer lounge. It has an inventory of 80 vehicles and plans to expand to 150 vehicles.

“We’re trying to create a good experience for the customer, so they don’t feel like they can’t be proud of where they bought their car,” said Kenneth Criscione, the dealership’s president.

The average mileage on vehicles at the dealership is about 30,000, he said. Prices range from $10,000 to $50,000.

Finish Line Automotive hopes to sell about 100 cars a month. A quick turnaround from purchase to sale allows the dealership to keep its prices down, Criscione said.

Criscione said Route 5 sees a lot of traffic and is close to major highways. Toyota of Wallingford is across the street. Executive Honda and Kia and Quality Subaru are nearby.

Apple Auto Wholesalers closed its Wallingford location in January and said it would consolidate and move its 100-car inventory to its Waterbury location.
