Family displaced after fire on Edgerton Road in Wallingford last night

WALLINGFORD — A family is displaced after a fire in their home at 35 Edgerton Road late last night.

Fire crews were called to the home around 10:45 p.m., Battalion Chief Richard Gibson, said. Crews found a well involved fire in the home and extinguished it in about an hour, Gibson said. No one was injured, the family living in the home was able to get out of the home safely, Gibson added.

According to the town assessor the home is owned by Guy and Janet Tennyson. Fire Marshal Michael Gudelski said the cause of the fire in under investigation. There is extensive damage to the interior and exterior of the home, Gudelski said. The building inspector was contacted. Gibson said the home will be uninhabitable.
