WALLINGFORD — A Cheshire woman faces a drug charge after police say she was found lying face down in the middle of Washington Street Sunday night.

Amanda Shalagan, 23, of 475 Sandstone Circle, Cheshire, was charged Sunday with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

About 9:49 p.m. Sunday, police were called to Washington Street near Ward Street for a report of a woman lying in the road, Lt. Cheryl Bradley said. Officers found Shalagan face down, passed out in the street, according to a police report. When she woke up and handed the officer her identification, a tablet of LSD fell out of her pocket, the report said. Shalagan was also found with drug paraphernalia in her purse, the report noted.

She was released on a promise to appear in Meriden Superior Court for Aug. 18.
