Waterbury teen charged with selling drugs in Wallingford

WALLINGFORD — A Waterbury teen faces drug charges after a motor vehicle stop.

Kiana Rodriguez, 19, was charged Thursday with sale of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance, misuse of registration plates, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and operating with no insurance.

Rodriguez was stopped Thursday after police said they observed her vehicle involved in a drug sale near North Colony Road.

Police searched her vehicle and found 120 wax folds of heroin and 13 bags of crack cocaine weighing about 4.2 grams. Police also seized a prescription pain killer, five cell phones and $153 from the car. The search was conducted with assistance from the department’s police dog.

Rodriguez was released on $50,000 bond and will appear in Meriden Superior Court on Aug. 24.
