LETTERS: An uplifting article on gas station owner Ray Porto

Uplifting article

Editor:

On Thursday, August 3, your paper had a uplifting article on Ray Porto, owner of Citgo gas station in Wallingford. How nice it was to open the paper and read a wonderful article that actually made you feel happy! Best of all it was on the front page! Mr. Porto is a truly special man, and I drive away with a smile on my face each and every time I get gas at his station! Thank you Ray and YOU have a sparkling day!

Failure will continue

Editor:

It’s a sad state of affairs when area school superintendants salaries are $172,000 to $196,000. City employees are public servants and shouldn’t be millionaires after five years while taxypayers struggle. Every big city in Connecticut has a Democrat mayor. Until change is made in November failure will continue.
