Catering to the poor

Editor:

I think it is interesting that the President Obama is in favor of a rise in the minimum wage. How else can the liberals and Democrats keep getting elected? They (liberals and Democrats) get the vote of the 47 percent who live off the government that we, who pay taxes support.

I believe that one thing liberals and Democrats don’t understand is economics. When you raise the minimum wage, someone needs to pay the bill. What will eventually happen is prices will rise to cover the increase in wages and small businesses will cut back on employees. Then, how do we fix it? Raise the minimum wage again, put more people on the dole, raise taxes only on those people who pay taxes.

If you gave everyone in the middle- and lower classes a million dollars, you would still have a lower class and a middle class. Everything will eventually be the same, the only difference will be what happened in Germany after World War II when it cost a million marks for a loaf of bread.

Don’t worry, as long as the liberals and Democrats cater to the people who live off of entitlement from the government, they will continue to be in office.
