Feld elected to Southington Finance Board

SOUTHINGTON — An error transmitting vote totals from Kennedy Middle School led to confusion over which Democratic candidate had won a seat on the Board of Finance.

Incumbent Sandra Feld took the seat, but the town’s website showed John Moise receiving more votes. With the corrected numbers, Feld had 38 votes more than Moise. The votes would have been recounted but Moise denied the recount.

Feld received 3,620 votes and Moise 3,582.

Moise said he didn’t want taxpayers to incur the expense of a recount since, in either case, a Democrat would take a seat on the Board of Finance, according to Feld.

Feld said she’s glad to be returning to the board.
