NWS forecast calls for chilly day

The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement as a strong cold front crossing the region early this morning will cause temperatures to fall into the 30s.

Temperatures are expected to stay in the 30s throughout the day with gusty northerly winds creating wind chill values in the 20s.

Light rain showers are forecast for the evening, then as colder air moves in, the forecast expects the precipitation to change to all snow. Up to half an inch of snow is possible, leading to slippery roads and reduced visibility in the morning.
