Two people injured in Southington motorcycle accident


SOUTHINGTON — Two people were injured Thursday night near the intersection of Bristol and Main streets when a car collided with the motorcycle they were riding.

Police and fire crews responded to a car vs. motorcycle accident about 8:30 p.m. in the area of 570 Main Street. Kenneth Zakrewski, 50, of Southington was driving north on Main Street (Route 10) and was turning left to enter the gas station, police said. James Leonrad, 24, of Southington, was driving a motorcycle with passenger Amanda Horvath, 24, of Bristol south on Main Street, police said. The vehicles collided, and Leonard and Horvath suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said. Leonard was taken to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury and Horvath was taken to Waterbury Hospital. Both are listed in stable condition, police said.
