Connolly deals aces as Knights cruise


BLOOMFIELD — Dan Connolly had eight aces and knocked down all 15 of his serves as the Southington High boys volleyball team romped to a 25-5, 25-11, 25-12 win in an interdivisional CCC test at Bloomfield.

Connolly also had four kills. Adam Brush led the Knights (3-0) with six.

Tom DelBuono had five aces and Adam Viviano had four.

Setter Peter Masters had 11 assists and gave way to Viviano, who responded with eight.

Maloney 3, South Windsor 2: The Spartans broke into the win column with a 25-19, 25-21, 29-31, 18-25, 15-12 win at Nessing Gym.

Gilberto Ramos supplied the offense with 10 kills. Jeremy Elanaya was the defensive star with four blocks and had two kills on the attack for Maloney (1-2).

South Windsor is 2-2.
