Maloney’s Burt wins NE hurdles crown

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. — Maloney senior Briana Burt won the 100-meter high hurdles title Saturday at the New England High School Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Bridgewater State University.

Burt, who won the CIAC Class L hurdles championship and finished second in the CIAC State Open earlier this month, bested the New England field with a time of 14.57 seconds.

That time is the latest Maloney girls hurdles record set by Burt. She had run a 14.84 in the Class L meet and a 14.99 in the State Open.
