State stars host Mass. today at Palmer Field


MIDDLETOWN — Two graduating seniors and a trio of underclassmen are among the Connecticut All-Stars who will suit up today against Massachusetts in the seventh annual New England Baseball Challenge.

Palmer Field is hosting the twinbill. The Senior All-Star game starts at 11 a.m. The Junior Select game follows at 2 p.m.

Southington pitcher/center fielder Joe Rivera and Maloney catcher Mike Gulino are playing in the senior game. Both are going on to play in college — Rivera at UConn and Gulino at Pace.

The junior game will include Southington’s Zac Susi, Cheshire’s Cooper Mrowka and Sheehan’s Zach Hart.
