Southington grapplers pin Simsbury, 42-33

SIMSBURY — Three Southington wrestlers won by fall and the Blue Knights benefited from three forfeits Wednesday in edging Simsbury, 42-33, in a CCC West road match.

Jacob Cardoza needed just 39 seconds to pin at 106 pounds. Tagan Welch followed with another first-period fall. Paul Calo pinned in 5:14 at 145.

James Ringrose won a 9-3 decision at 245. Logan LaRosa won a 6-0 verdict at 170. Shawn Wagner (120), Jim Starr (285) and Caleb Chesanow (126) won by forfeit.

The Knights are 2-0, 1-0 in the division. The Trojans are 0-3, 0-1.
