Pasta dinner helps family with hospital bills

WALLINGFORD - A pasta dinner tonight at the Elks Lodge will benefit a local boy who lost much of his left foot in a lawn mower accident in May.

Sawyer Marquis, 4, has had several operations and has been in the hospital on and off for more than three weeks, according to his parents, George and Robin Marquis. The fundraiser was organized by George's co-worker after other efforts by people in town.

"It's been an amazing community response," George said. "The response to Sawyer has been overwhelming."

The dinner runs from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Elks Lodge 1365 at 148 S. Main St. Tickets are $8 per person or $20 per family and the night will include a raffle for donated prizes.
