Three vehicles stolen overnight in Wallingford

WALLINGFORD—Three vehicles were stolen in the Cook Hill Road and Clearview Drive area Friday night into Saturday morning, Police Lt. Glen King said Saturday morning.

One of the stolen vehicles was recovered “a very short distance from where it was stolen from,” King said.

King also reported that six break-ins occurred in the same area. In the instance of the three stolen vehicles and six vehicles burglarized, “everyone of these cars was left unlocked with the keys in them,” King said.

The police department urges residents not to leave keys inside their vehicles overnight, and to lock their vehicles, King said. An investigation is ongoing, he added.

“Certainly we’re working on it,” King said. “The detective division has people dedicated to it, and are following through on good leads.”

“Certainly we’re not doing nothing,” he added. “Their are viable leads.” (203) 317-2224 Twitter: @Andyragz
