Wallingford Toys for Tots party Wednesday

WALLINGFORD—The 23rd Annual Toys for Tots Party will be held Wednesday at Gaetano’s Tavern on Main, 40 N. Main St.

The event is held annually to collect toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program. The program aims to collect new, unwrapped toys each year and distribute them to less fortunate children as Christmas gifts. Wallingford’s Tots for Tots Party was established by local residents Holly Lafond and James Fitzsimmons.

“This event nets the most toys per any single event for the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program in New Haven County,” Lafond said.

Those who attend are asked to bring an unwrapped toy for a boy or girl 16 years old and younger. Live music and appetizers will be served, and a cash bar will be available during the event. The group is also collecting items for local animal shelters.
