Armed robbery Sunday night at Wallingford gas station; no injuries


WALLINGFORD — Armed robbers held a clerk at gunpoint late Sunday night at the Pit Stop gas station and convenience store, 66 Woodhouse Ave., taking cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police.

The clerk was not injured. The incident occurred at about 10:40 p.m. The store is located near the intersection of Woodhouse Avenue and Route 150.

After taking cigarettes and cash from the store’s register, the robbers fled in a “dark colored four door sedan type vehicle,” according to police. An investigation is ongoing.
