East Hampton motorcyclist injured in Wallingford crash

WALLINGFORD — An East Hampton man suffered minor injuries after his motorcycle crashed on Hall Avenue on Sunday afternoon, police said.

Lt. Rick Homestead said the man, 26-year-old Christopher Malatesta, lost control of his motorcycle near the intersection of Hall and Masonic avenues at about 1:30 p.m. The motorcycle skidded and laid on its side, Homestead said.

Malatesta was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital by ambulance, Homestead said.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident, and Hall Avenue was closed for about an hour while police investigated, Homestead said.
