SOUTHINGTON — A section of Burritt Street reopened this morning after a transformer fire.
Around 5:30 a.m. police responded to a report of a transformer fire in the area of Burritt Street and April Road, Sgt. Jeffrey Dobratz, police spokesman said. There were wires down and a report of a fire on a lawn, Dobratz said. There were no injuries and Eversource crews are on scene. As of 8 a.m. 45 people were without power. Burritt Street was closed between April Road and Canal Street, Dobratz said. As of 9:45 a.m. the road was opened, Dobratz said.
