On July 29, a pair of local golf pros teed it up just before 6 a.m. at Shuttle Meadow Country Club and kept right on playing until 4:30 p.m.
By the time Shuttle Meadow assistant pro James Giampoalo and Timberlin head pro Marc Bayram eased off their golf shoes that day, they had completed 100 holes.
Timberlin and Shuttle Meadow team up to do this 100-hole fundraising marathon annually to support the CTPGA Golf Foundation.
Also, Bayram makes sure that some of the funds raised go to support the Berlin High School golf program.
Over the past nine years, the 100-hole golf marathon has generated some $100,000.
Normally, Shuttle Meadow pro Tim Gavronski takes part in the 100-hole challenge, but he couldn’t go all out this year, as he was injured.
Still, Gavronski joined Bayram and Giampoaolo for a few holes and did some chipping and putting.
