BERLIN — A fire consumed an industrial building on Christian Lane Thursday afternoon.
There were no reported injuries.
According to a post on the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department Facebook page, the fire at 415 Christian Lane was reported just before 1 p.m. by workers. The building is operated as a waste-hauling transfer station.
The 150-foot-by-150-foot metal building, which is occupied by the waste removal company CWPM, was already well-involved when firefighters arrived, volunteer fire officials said. Firefighters from New Britain, Wethersfield and Newington provided mutual aid on scene. Additional companies from Cromwell and Rocky Hill provided station coverage at the Kensington Firehouse.
Firefighters were on scene for three-and-a-half hours.
