The Berlin Democratic Town Committee is pleased to welcome Dr. Donna Risolo as the newest member of the Town Council. Risolo was confirmed unanimously by the board on Tuesday, Jan. 17. She succeeds Jonathan "Jack" Fazzino following his November election as state representative from the 83rd House District.
Risolo holds a doctorate in education from Columbia University and is employed by the Capital Region Education Council (CREC). Also, she is the owner of College Prep Tutors, a Berlin-based college admissions consulting firm.
"I am honored to join the Town Council and look forward to serving the people of Berlin," Risolo said.
Julie Erickson, chairperson of the Berlin Democratic Town Committee, praised Risolo's advocacy and dedication to service. "Donna brings a passion for community planning and business development," said Erickson. "She will be a steadfast voice for residents and a strong advocate for Berlin."
State Rep. Fazzino commented, "While I will miss the daily work of local government, I have every confidence that Councilor Risolo will offer a thoughtful, valued perspective on the Town Council. I look forward to working with her and all our town officials in moving Berlin forward."
