Girl Scouts come through for children’s hospital

For their community service project, over the past two years, Berlin Girl Scout Troop 66526 made beaded items to sell, with the proceeds going to the Connecticut Children's Hospital.

The Scouts made beaded book markers, key chains, fairy garden stakes and plant pot charms, and also collected money from sales of kitchen fairies donated by Meriden resident Ina Belanger.

Along the way, the local Scouts earned many badges and learned many skills. It was an incredible effort on their part and they were so determined to see it through.

In the end, Troop 66526 earned $3,000, which it used to purchase items from the Connecticut Children's Hospital Wish List. Donations included Marvel action figures, Disney princess dolls, stuffed animals, sticker books, therapy items, LEGO kits, two baby swings, and more.
